Sandstone
We use sandstone from the Sussex Weald, which is a very versatile and durable type of sandstone. It has a limestone content which makes the stone very tough.
It is quarried close to the surface and has many geological features. Rippled surfaces, fossilised plants and dinosaur footprints sre visible on some stones.
Our sandstone is a very attractive colour: a light and dark buff blend. The suface has a good grip and edges tend to be round. This stone is also ideal for carving designs and lettering.
